How long will it take to setup my account?
Accounts are setup ASAP - usually less than 24 hours. You will receive a welcome email when you signup with instructions on how to access your account.
How long before (www.mydomain.com) is accessible?
After you registered a new domain, it should be available within 24 hours. Propagating a new domain thru the web normally takes about 2 to 3 days.
Is the domain name I want available?
The first step of our signup is a Whois and will tell you if the domain is available. If it is not, you can search for another one until you find one you like.
What forms of payment are acceptable?
The type of payment will be by mutual agreement.
How do I cancel my account?
In order to protect your security and privacy, we can only accept account cancellations via postal mail. Please include your name, signature, domain name, email, and a brief explanation. We will do all in our power to verify this with you before cancelling your account and deleting your site.
Do you pay for my domain renewal fees?
When you register a new domain with us (.com, .net, .org), we pay the fees for as long as you are a customer of ours.
Can I view my site before the domain is transferred?
Yes, we will give you a temporary link to your site while the transfer is in progress.
What kind of Control Panel do you use?
We use a text-based control panel. It is very easy to use (but, please, read any instructions first).
I have transferred my files, but I still see an under construction page.
Make sure your homepage is named either 'index' or 'default' with the extension of your choice ('htm' or 'html' or 'asp'). If it is, make sure it’s in the /html directory. If all this is correct, delete the 123start.htm file in your /html directory.
What is the loading order on your servers?
We follow normal conventions. If you do not supply a page name with your link, the server
will look for files in this order (meaning that if one is missing the server will look for the next one in the list):
1. default.htm
2. default.html
3. default.asp
4. index.htm
5. index.html
6. index.asp
What kind of servers do you use?
We use custom configured High-Performance Servers. The minimum configuration is as follows:
Dual Pentium IV
1Gb RAM
SCSI 10k RPM Data Drives
Genuine Intel Server Board
They are located on a redundant OC48 network.
How are you connected to the Internet?
Our network backbone is based on redundant SONET networks maintained by multiple fiber carriers and utilizes both switching and router technology to provide the most reliable network model.
What type of backups do you use?
We backup the sites on a daily basis to a RAID 5 system. That system is then backed up to tape. At all times there are three copies of your data. Please be aware that even though we are creating daily backups of the servers as a whole, we strongly suggest that our customers keep a copy of their individual sites. The final onus is on the client!
How many sites do you host on each server?
We limit the number of sites to no more that 250. However, this may be less due to popular sites on one server. Servers are never allowed over 60% of their capacity.
Does each site have it’s own IP address?
We use Virtual / IPless hosting. Due to advances in technology, your site no longer needs it’s own IP.
You said you pay the domain registration fees. Will this one day apply to modified domains also?
At this time it does not include Modified / Transferred domains. We are working on the technology to transfer your domains to our new Registrar. More info will be available when this comes out.
Do you have a shopping cart system available?
The shopping cart that is provided with your account is Cart32. You may get more help and information by going to http://www.cart32.com/. You will still need a merchant bank account for processing Credit Card Transactions. We can recommend http://www.takepayment.com/ or http://www.paypal.com/.
Can I point a domain name to a subdirectory of my web site?
No, you can not.
Can I host multiple domains under one account?
No, each domain must have it’s own account. You can, however, register multiple domains under your name.
What type of support do you offer?
We offer Email Support. Our office hours are Monday to Friday 10.00am to 4.00pm CAT (GMT+09:30). Email support is available 7 days.
What are your terms of service?
We reserve the right to permanently discontinue service at any time, without notice, should you be found in violation of our terms and conditions. Please make sure to read the Terms Of Service.
Do you allow adult content?
No, we do not allow adult content.
Do you support Real Audio/Video?
No, we do not support the Real Audio / Video server. You can, however, use an http stream.
Do you allow MP3, game or software download sites?
No, we do not allow this. Your site can be suspended with no notice.
Can I use an absolute path for databases?
Yes, you can.
Do you monitor your servers 24 hours a day?
All the support staff carry pagers and laptops with them 24 hours a day. Everything is monitored 24/7 to insure the best possible service.
How do I get my live stats added?
Your live stats are available approximately 2 to 3 weeks after your signup. You can access them from the control panel.
What are the strange _underscore directories in my space?
Those directories belong to FrontPage. If you are not going to use FrontPage, you may delete them. Otherwise leave them alone or your FrontPage Extensions will not work.
How do I get a password protected directory?
Just email techsupport and include the domain name and directory name you would like password protected. You will receive a confirmation email shortly with instructions on how to change passwords. You can add/delete/modify users with no interaction on our part.
Do you offer Telnet access?
No, Telnet access would compromise the security of the machine.
Is anonymous FTP available?
No, we do not offer anonymous FTP.
Are custom 404 error pages available?
Yes, create a page that you would like to have as your error page, name it '404.htm' or '404.asp' and upload it to your root directory. Then send an email to techsupport with the domainname, location and name of the page.
I have forgotten my email account password(s). Can you recover it for me?
No, we can not. Be very careful and write down your passwords as, for security reasons, they can not be recovered. The only way out of it is for you to delete the account and then re-start it again from new - because of this, you will lose all data. Only YOU can access your account password(s).
I want to get my email with Outlook or Netscape, How do I do this?
You will need to contact the vendor for your email product and ask them how to setup a POP
mail account. You will need this information:
1. The incoming (POP) and outgoing (SMTP) servers are: mail.(yourdomain).com
2. The User or Account Name is: (username)
How do I setup an Autoresponder?
To setup an autoresponder, log into the account you would like to add it to. You will see an option called "Auto Response". Click on this and enter the proper information.
What do I do if I deleted my admin account?
Ooops! Email techsupport.
Can I use Blat?
No, we do not support Blat.
Can I use WinMail?
No, we do not support WinMail.
Is Sendmail installed on the NT servers?
No, Sendmail does not run on our servers.
How do I send email from a web page?
You can use the FrontPage Email bot, DevMailer, ASPMail, ASPEmail, JMail or a CGI script that supports SMTP servers.
Do you support Microsoft FrontPage 97, 98, 2000?
We support FrontPage 2000+. We recommend you upgrade for the added features.
Can I use FTP and Front Page?
We recommend you use one or the other. FrontPage HTTP does not know when a page has been changed via FTP (and viceversa). It will overwrite your changes.
I deleted my FrontPage Extensions, what do I do?
Ooops again! Email techsupport and we will re-install them for you (this will not harm your pages).
What databases can I use?
You may use Microsoft Access, FoxPro, Excel, etc. depending on what type you have.
How do I setup an Access DSN?
Email techsupport with the name of the database and the DSN name you would like. Make sure the database is uploaded prior to requesting this.
Can I use a DSN-less connection?
Yes you can, however we do not provide support for DSN-less connections.
What is CGI?
CGI stands for Common Gateway Interface. CGI provides a method to interface a computer program with an HTML page. CGI programs can be written to do many different things, which include: Chat Rooms, BBS, counters and online forms.
Do you support CGI? What Type?
We support Perl 5.6.0. You must have a .pl or .cgi extension on your script.
Can I chmod the directory?
You do not have to. On IIS, you simply put your scripts in the cgi-bin directory which already has all the necessary permissions.
Is Perl available on the servers?
Perl 5.6.0 by Activestate is installed on all our servers.
What is ASP?
ASP stands for Active Server Pages. You can learn about this at Microsoft’s website at http://www.microsoft.com/.
Where can I go to learn more about ASP?
Do I need to do anything to enable ASP on my website?
No, as soon as you signup you will be able to use ASP.
Do I need special software to create ASP pages?
No, as with HTML you can create ASP pages using Notepad or FrontPage. You can also use Visual Interdev.
What COM components do you support?
We support ASPMail and JMail.
Do you support Visual InterDev?
Yes, we support the design of your website with Visual InterDev. Specific design-time components such as custom .dll’s are not supported.
Do you support Cold Fusion 4.5?
Yes, we have Cold Fusion 4.5 installed on all servers.
Which Cold Fusion tags are not available?
CFContent, CFDirectory, CFFile, CFObject & CFRegistry are disabled as security precautions.
